Still disassembled …

Okay, so it’s taking a bit longer than we’d hoped to finish the basement (hee hee, anyone surprised?), so my crafty room is still a big pile of … big piles.  Stay tuned, I’ll be back!! :)

A Taste of Digital

I am, as you may have noticed, a card-maker.  I have a confession … I’m not a scrapbooker. (*gasp*!)  I know, I know, shouldn’t that be a prerequisite to being a Stampin’ Up demonstrator? :) Hee hee.  NOPE!  I have nothing against it, but I much prefer making cards.  I like to make cards in my craft room and my photos sit on my computer, waiting for me to do something crafty with them.

So can you imagine how excited I am about our new digital software??

my-project-1-001

SO EXCITED!!  This is a kind of scrapbooking that I will do!

my-project-2-003

Low maintenance, no mess, I can use my Macbook while I sit and watch tv and unwind (yup, Mac and PC compatible), I can work on things here and there in spare moments … there are so many reasons to love this. :)

my-project-8-004

And this isn’t just a scrapbooking software.  That’s why it’s called My Digital Studio.  It does a lot more.  You can make a quick card (either with a template or from scratch) with just one design, and then easy-peasy print off a bunch of your own personalized Christmas cards, bridal shower thank-you cards, baby announcements, etc, etc, etc.  Yay for easy mass-production! :)

This is a card that was just made strictly from a template.  It took about 1.4 seconds to “make.”

my-project-3-001

Can you picture it printed off (yourself or through our professional printing service) and a cute embellishment or 2 added to give it dimension?  (aka “hybrid” cards) Or choose your own backround color or designer series paper, change the ribbon, add another … anything!  The program comes with over 2,000 exclusive Stampin’ Up images!

my-project-7-002

I’m excited, can you tell? :) You can make whole albums and have them printed through our printing service, and a bound book will appear at your door.  You can create calendars, a banner for your blog, DVDs/movies, flyers, electronic images, or figure out how a card would look before you even cut into a piece of paper by using My Digital Studio as a design studio.  Cool, eh?

Anyone else excited? :) Okay, now that’s kind of a tease, because My Digital Studio is available October 1st, so you have to wait a couple weeks.  And if you’ve priced out digital programs, you’ll be impressed with this — it will only cost $79.95.  But in the meantime, be thinking of the fun things you want to create, and watch out for more info coming.

As a demonstrator I was able to pre-order the software, and I will soon be officially certified in the program … I’ll be ready, bring on your questions! :)

Tootles!

Laura :)

(If you can’t wait until Oct. 1st and want My Digital Studio at 30% off, you can always become a demonstrator, too, and join our fun team. Whee!)

Butterflies vinyl

I’m on a bit of a hiatus right now, since we just decided last minute to finish the basement this week!  Ahh!  We’re nuts, and my stamp room is completely inaccessible right now.

In the meantime, I realized that I forgot to post this vinyl from my daughter’s bedroom.

I put this up a little big ago.  She loves having her name up there. :)

Have I mentioned that she’s been obsessed with butterflies all year?  Well, she has.  She was a butterfly for Halloween and her baby sister was a bee.  She was 2 1/2, so she told everyone they were “buh-fly and bumbabee.” :) She also chose a butterfly birthday party when she turned 3, so yes, all things butterfly this year for her.

Wish us luck with our insanity for the next couple weeks! :)

Supplies – Classic Individual letters to spell name, Flutter vinyl for butterflies

Ducks & Sailboats

I had a friend/cousin ask me to make some baby boy thank-you cards using a sailboat (with blue, brown, white and red) and ducks.  Well, that’s not exactly how the conversation went :) , but that’s the gist.

Yay!  A challenge with something specific!  This was fun for me.  Here is what I came up with, based on a layout that I had seen several places.
