Occasions Mini – 1 week left

Just a friendly reminder from your local (or long distance!) Stampin’ Up demo! :)

The Occasions mini catalog will be wrapping up and no longer available after April 30th ~ this means just 1 more week to place your order!  You can place your order online in my store or contact me to place it.

Simply Adorned – my new bracelet!

I confess … I am not a big jewelry-type girl.  On occasion, yes, but not in a day-to-day setting.  Especially as a stay-at-home-mom! :)

There are, however, a few casual pieces of jewelry that appeal to me — and a cutie patootie little bracelet is one of them.  So how excited was I to see this in the mini catalog??bracelet-imageThis is the bracelet chain from our Simply Adorned line.  And thanks to my fabulous upline Max for the awesome gift, I was able to get my bracelet and charms this week! :) circle-charmsquare-charmThese little 5/8″ charms come in circle or square (obviously :) ), and right now I have one of each on my bracelet.

My favorite part of all of the Simply Adorned products (yes, we have necklaces and larger charms, too!) is that the inside is all customizable.  You can add in any design you choose!  Love that!

I’ll be changing mine out soon, but I wanted to put something very simple inside for now.

My clear block wanted to make a cameo appearance in this shot. :)

The charms are all double-sided.  Here you can see the other side, and get an idea of the size.

bracelet2

Super simple, super easy, and super fun. :)

For the quick addition to my charms I just used the Tiny Tags stamp set (in clear-mount, my obvious new favorite for lots of reason), my new butterfly embosslit that I’m still loving, and a few little scraps of designer series paper.  This paper was from the Sweet Pea pack.  I love this paper, and I swear it lasts forever. (Okay, a really really long time.)  It’s only available through April (as with a lot of Occasions Mini items!!), so get it quick.

Oh, also a handy little tip — I found that the 1/2″ circle punch is the perfect size for the small circle charm, so there is no cutting involved there.  Phew — I am not good with cutting circles. :)

bracelet-baby

My baby is pretty sure the bracelet is her new toy.  We may need to have a talk.

Fun, huh?? :)

Tootles!

Butterfly Wedding

I was wondering today what a black & white wedding card would look like with my fabulous new little butterfly embosslit.  So, well, I had to try it out!  I’ll have to play around with this more, but this is my “tester.”  Don’t mind the messy spots! :)

buttefly-wedding

This next picture is a little out of focus (oopsie!), but you can see a little bit of the heat embossing in the corner and the crystal effects on the butterfly. (The crystal effects was still not even quite dry there.  Have to hurry and get this posted before the baby wakes up! :) )

The stamps I used, for the Mr & Mrs, are from the cute Together Forever set.  And those cute swirls in the corner?  Those are a sneak peek (love a sneak peek!) from the upcoming Summer Mini Catalog! (whoo hoo, the perks of being a demo and getting goodies early!)  The Summer Mini will be available May 1st, and this set is called Elements of Style.  (Love it.)

Thanks for peeking in!  I’d better go get that now-awake baby!

April Card Club

My April card clubs are already over, but I haven’t posted the projects yet.  Here we go! :)

This adorable bunny box is 100%, completely copied from Marie’s creation.  It was darling — I couldn’t stand it.  Must … make … own … bunny!

(She shares complete directions if you’d like to make your own.)

bunny-box1

Besides, have I mentioned I’m a punch-a-holic?  Punch art is right up my alley.  I must have a style similar to Marie, because I find myself gravitating to her blog often to ooh and aah.  Luckily for the un-creative like myself there are the creative among us, willing to share ideas. :)

(And yes, I realize that Easter is over, but spring isn’t!  Bunnies are springy!)

For this one we used the Just Buzzin’ By stamp set and did some watercoloring with the watercolor crayons and blender pens. (See the video on my last post.)

bees

It was fun to pull out my color spritzer tool, also — haven’t used that one in a while!  (Can you see the speckles in the background?)  Oh, and you really can’t have honey without crystal effects, can you?

I wish I could say that I came up with this idea for our last card.  I have no idea who really did come up with it 1st … I just know that these are very popular to make right now. :)

tulips

See, those tulips are the brilliant part — they are made of the bird’s wing from the bird punch!  And the vase is actually just the ornament punch with the bottom trimmed off.  Brilliant, right? :)

Add a little sponging for dimension, and voila … a cutie patootie tulip card.

Thanks for peeking in! :)

Watercolor Crayons

I loooove (and have recently rediscovered) these Watercolor Wonder Crayons.  We used these in my card clubs this week, and I hope the girls had as much fun with them as I do. (I do still need to post pictures of our projects — I will!)

Stampin’ Up recently made another awesome video ~ this time all about these crayons and some samples/techniques/cute ideas.  Enjoy! :)

Color re-do … whoo hoo!

I have been waiting for this for a long time!  Stampin’ Up just announced that they are doing a color renovation, and I am sooooo excited.  I love the Stampin Up color schemes, but let’s face it — several of those colors are simply outdated and unused.  So out with the old, and in with the new (and returning in-colors!) !!!

Introducing … the new Color Collections. :)

There are quite a few colors retiring at the end of June, so if you have a favorite on there, stock up now!  I have a feeling these will be selling out pretty fast.
