1st Birthday!

My baby just turned 1!!

widdison_photography_231

I only have a minute (since little birthday girl herself just woke up), but I want to show you my quick crafty doo-dads that I made for her party.

1st, and a bit ridiculous :) , I decided last minute that I wanted her little cake on a pedestal of some sort.  After a quick rummage, I grabbed a tupperware bowl and figured that was good enough.  And let’s not be silly, you know I covered it in some designer series paper that matched the frosting. :) (I used Tea Party dsp.)

To save money on quick decorations (it was just a small family party), I pulled out a tablecloth that we had from my older daughter’s birthday party.  I took a peek at it and realized, “hey lookie, daisies!”  You know where I’m going with this, right? :)

Yup, my good ol’ Big Shot machine!  I grabbed some paper in colors that matched the tablecloth, my Daisies Flower die, and ran them through my machine a bunch of times.  Yay for quick and easy … and inexpensive!!  Yay!  I put these flowers on the table and door and all around.  I would have had more, but I ran out of that sticky tack stuff that I was using to put them on the walls.  Oopsie.

Don’t look too close at that cake … umm, I had 2 cranky kids at my ankles while I tried to frost it, if that is any excuse. :)

Happy birthday to my little lady!

July card club

I just started my 1st card club, and I’m pretty sure I lucked out with this group of girls.  They are so fun!  I’m really excited.

We made 2 cards and 1 box (technically, 2 boxes :) ) at our 1st party.  I’ve already posted one card here, but here it is again.

stamp_princess_circlecircus3

I mentioned before that I got that card idea from our Stampin’ Up demonstrator monthly magazine, Stampin’ Success.  I get a lot of ideas from there. :)

I have seen these boxes around in a lot of places, but Dawn has a great tutorial video here.

And this last one is case’d almost identically from Andrea.  Her card was so darn cute I couldn’t change it and had to use it!! :)

Not many of my own original ideas this month, huh? :)   LOL.  Well, that’s why I love the stamping community.

Thanks!,

Laura :)

Birthday Bliss

This is proof that I am still here, and I do still make cards! :)   Wow, busy busy, but I do still escape for some play time here and there.

birthdaybliss

I used a cutie patootie new birthday set for this card, Birthday Bliss.  And when I finished, I realized no stamp pads … just Versamark and markers on this one.  I’ll put the details below. :)

It’s almost 1 AM, off to bed!  Just finishing up some whole wheat cinnamon rolls.  Um, yummy? :)   Breakfast tomorrow morning will be oh so sweet, even when the baby wakes up too early.  Bye for now!

Laura :)

Birthday class

I’m doing a birthday class for a friend, Jen.  This will be so fun! img_9978_1

Each project was so fun to make.  img_9992_1

img_9986_1

That one was CASE’d almost exactly from Beate.  Check hers out here.  I liked it too much to change anything. :)

This next one is a gift card holder.

Target gift card not included in the class. ;)

img_0011_1

I used Jill’s measurements for that one.

And every so often you just need a simple, masculine 3×3 card to attach to a gift.

This last one came together so fast.  My husband was working in the office next to me, and I turned around to show my finished box to him.  His response?  “Whoa, did you just make that?  That fast?” img_9994_1

Yes, it really is that fast.  Love the Big Shot.

In that one, the chocolate is included! :)

KW’s Color Inspiration #48

I don’t usually do these challenges with a particular person in mind, but I thought I’d try it this time.  I like how it turned out, with the exception of the letters.  They looked cute all crooked-y until I assembled the card. :)

I do love these little letters, just not crooked.stamp_princess_birthdayStraight would look better, no? :)   Now I know for next time. ;)   Tee hee.

But I do love this paper, and how handy that it fit with the colors for the challenge this week! :)

Thanks for stopping by!,
