August Card Club

I just wrapped up my card clubs for the month.  I love these girls!  We have so much fun.

I just love, love, love this owl punch.  I think I gasped when I 1st saw it in the new catalog. :)   (I am, after all, addicted to all things punch related, so you know I looked there 1st!)

#118074, $16.95

We used li’l owlie on this first card.

How cute is he with that Play date designer series paper?

#117168, $9.95 (12 sheets!)

This is the inside of that one.

On that card we also used the woodgrain stamp (a must have for the owl peek cards!) and the uber yummy designer buttons. (And yes, more punches.)

For our 2nd card, I did it again … I couldn’t help myself.  I am a sucker for a cute card that must be replicated.  This was the original (and hey, LW and I have the same initials :) ), and here is our very similar version.

(The one we made in club did vary a little as this was my prototype, but close enough.  I should have taken a more accurate picture later.)

Are you noticing a theme yet with the crumb cake color as our card base?  Well, yes, I didn’t realize this until I was done with all 3 cards. :)   No secret that it’s a favorite.  Here is our 3rd card using (gasp) crumb cake as a base color …

This one was very directly inspired by Nance — thank you! :)

That stamp set, apple blossoms, is one of my favorites right now.  It’s a hostess set, meaning you can get it for free by hosting a party with me.  I love free. :)

And that little bitty tag?  Cute, no?  That is using the tiny tags stamp set and cute little jewelry tag punch.

Okie dokie, bye!

Laura :)

June Card Club

I am now working on July’s card club projects and realize I didn’t post June’s.  Here we go! :)

Alright, sometimes I see a card that is so cute, I just need to replicate it.  I try to switch it up and make it my own, but I tried on this one and the original was just too cute and stuck in my mind.

curly-label-x4

I love cute simplicity in cards.  And have I mentioned that I love punches? :)   This is CASE’d (copy & share everything) right from Leanne’s blog, seen here.

This one is a bookmark card.  I’ve seen these often and made a couple different kinds.

bookmark-card

As a reader, I always like the thought of receiving a card and a bookmark.  How fun. :)

bookmark-card-2

And finally we made this fun Build-a-Bear card.

bear-girl

Isn’t she cute?  My little girl is happy to know that now that my clubs are done for June, this card is hers. :)   This was a very easy and fun card with the Big Shot machine and bear dies. (there are several, and more coming out in the new catalog July 1st.  Let me know if you need a new catalog.) The letter A is from the Go Go Boots alphabet set.  And the cute polka-dotted background?  A favorite of mine, used very often. :)   This is made using polka-dot impressions pad.

You can find any of the supplies used to make these cards in my online store here.  (Click “shop now.”)

Tootles!

May Card Club

For our card clubs this month we get to play around a little bit with some new Summer Mini products. :) (If you don’t have this catalog yet, let me know!)

The papers and ribbons vary in the projects that my club girls have made/will make, but this is the basic idea.

This is a basic tri-fold card.  Fun and simple to make (don’t ask my girls about the ribbon issue we had, hee hee!) and it makes a fun “wow” for whoever you give it to.  Here it is all folded up …

trifold

… and this is the inside.

trifold-inside

We used the new Elements of Style stamp set (love that hummingbird!!) and some retired paper.  This would also be darling with our new Island Oasis paper, though.

This next card is a kind-of-sort-of Father’s Day card. :)   The girls have the option of making it one if they want.  We did a little bit of a fun technique, paper piecing, on the truck.  So simple, but such a fun look!

loads-of-love

We used the always cute Loads of Love stamps here.  The coordinating stamp set, Loads of Love Accessories, is a bonus cutie cute set that we didn’t use on this particular card.

Our 3rd card uses that fun new Island Oasis paper.  It’s bright, colorful, cheery and fun.

tropical

Aren’t the daisies cute?  I love this die!  We used the Daisies Flower #2 die with my Big Shot machine.  We adhered them to the card using a large clear rhinestone brad and dimensional.  Another bunch of flowers that would coordinate perfectly with this paper is the new Island Floral die from the Summer Mini catalog.  We also used the polka dot impressions folder on the white background paper.  Love the texture. :)

That about (quickly) covers it!  Tootles!

April Card Club

My April card clubs are already over, but I haven’t posted the projects yet.  Here we go! :)

This adorable bunny box is 100%, completely copied from Marie’s creation.  It was darling — I couldn’t stand it.  Must … make … own … bunny!

(She shares complete directions if you’d like to make your own.)

bunny-box1

Besides, have I mentioned I’m a punch-a-holic?  Punch art is right up my alley.  I must have a style similar to Marie, because I find myself gravitating to her blog often to ooh and aah.  Luckily for the un-creative like myself there are the creative among us, willing to share ideas. :)

(And yes, I realize that Easter is over, but spring isn’t!  Bunnies are springy!)

For this one we used the Just Buzzin’ By stamp set and did some watercoloring with the watercolor crayons and blender pens. (See the video on my last post.)

bees

It was fun to pull out my color spritzer tool, also — haven’t used that one in a while!  (Can you see the speckles in the background?)  Oh, and you really can’t have honey without crystal effects, can you?

I wish I could say that I came up with this idea for our last card.  I have no idea who really did come up with it 1st … I just know that these are very popular to make right now. :)

tulips

See, those tulips are the brilliant part — they are made of the bird’s wing from the bird punch!  And the vase is actually just the ornament punch with the bottom trimmed off.  Brilliant, right? :)

Add a little sponging for dimension, and voila … a cutie patootie tulip card.

Thanks for peeking in! :)

March Card Club

I’m still here! :) I wanted to post our projects from card club this month.  We only have 2 projects this month, since 1 of them is more time-intensive and equals a couple cards.

1st, the simple card.

bird-card

One great perk of being a demo is the monthly magazine from Stampin’ Up.  It’s always full of great ideas … like that card. :)   That is pretty close to a sample provided by Stampin’ Up.  I love that bird punch!!  And the texture on the razzleberry paper?  I used the Manhattan Flower impressions die (just a corner of it) and the Sizzix Big Shot.

Oh, and I’m still using my huge pack of Sweet Pea paper.  I’ve used it in clubs and workshops for months and I still have a ton of it.  It lasts forever, so it’s a good thing I love it! :)

Our 2nd project is this gift card tin.  Have you noticed that I like these?

gift-card-tin

I again used clear embossing powder to give the tin a kind of faux-etched look.  Seriously, this is just one of those things you have to see in person. :)

The darling flowers are from the Sweet Pea felt (yup, they coordinate with my favorite paper!), and the crop-a-dile easily punches a hole in the tin for a ribbon handle.

(Have I mentioned that these tins are available online?  They are on the clearance rack for just $.99 while they last.)

Anywho, and here is the inside.

gift-card-tin-inside

I used the Birthday Bliss and With All My Heart stamp sets here (the background flowers are stamped with versamark ink).  I also used the punch that can be earned for FREE during Sale-a-Bration.  It’s definitely a favorite!

Email me with any other questions! :)

February Card Club

Ahhhh I have no idea how to use my husband’s camera!  Someday I may have to learn … but in the meantime, you’ll just have to excuse the out-of-focus crazies.

On to to projects. :)

The projects from this month are all very inspired by others.  Hooray for a sharing community!

This 1st card was fun because each girl gets to choose her own animal and sentiment.  (Thank you Angie for the inspiration on this one!  I loved the simplicity of her card, so I basically just changed the colors for a boy/neutral card.)

owl-congrats-card

We used the stamp set Fox & Friends for the animals.  I love these animals! fox-friends

The words came from another favorite, Well Scripted. well-scriptedThe girls in my club this week came up with some darling combinations!

Our 2nd card is inspired by Shelli herself.  I saw several places online an example of a card she showed at the recent Leadership Convention.  I changed several details, but I loved her card with these 3 hearts in a row.

3-heart-card

That large heart stamp is probably my favorite from this set, I {Heart} Hearts.

i-heart-hearts

You may recognize this as the stamp set that I mentioned here with the Haiti relief effort.  Be sure to check that out.  And the way that small heart punch coordinates with the teeny “love” heart stamp from this set?  Cute!

Also on that card, though it’s faint in the picture, you may see that I used a texture plate for the background.  These are a fantastic way to add a quick, fun texture to your projects with the Big Shot machine.

For our 3rd project, thank you Andrea for the idea on this one!  I love these!  And my kids really love them.

flower-treat

Imagine how cute this last picture would be if that flower was in focus?  Awwwwww. :)   I love little chubby fingers. (I may be especially biased when they belong to my babies.  Possibly.)

little-hands-treat

And here’s a thought … do you see my daughter’s shirt there?  Those birds and those colors?  I just may have to use that shirt as inspiration for a card soon!  Cute!  If you do, let me know!  I’d love to see your creation.

January Card Club

Happy New Year!!  It’s been chaotic and fun, so now back to craftiness! :) This’ll be quick, but I want to post these.

These are the 3 cards we’ll be making at my card club this month.

This card is directly inspired by the monthly demonstrator magazine, Stampin’ Success.  The butterfly punch makes this card come together quickly.

stampprincess_butterflies

And did you notice something new?  The scallop border punch is a new one from our Sale-a-Bration event!  That punch can be earned for free with any $50 purchase!  I liked the punch so much I used it again … :)

stampprincess_monkeys

I have seen a couple people use the vines from Cheep Talk with the new Fox & Friends stamp set — cute idea, ya??  This card is most definitely inspired by Heather, seen here. Fox & Friends is my very 1st clear-mount stamp set!  Oh for heavens, I am loving this system.

I decided to add a little red heart to the card after I took the picture.  Picture it … it’s cute. :)   The monkey on the right is holding it up, and it’s popped with a dimensional.  I used the brand new small heart punch (new punch style!) from the Occasions Mini catalog.

This last one is directly inspired by Shelli Gardner (Stampin’ Up co-founder) herself. :)

This card is so simple, and just fun.  One long strip of dsp (designer series paper) is folded at the bottom, and then with a lip at the top.  Make any sense?  This makes the pocket for a little note card to slip into.

stampprincess_pocket

This is what the little card from inside looks like.  This is cute with just about any dsp.

stampprincess_pocket2

The dsp used on that card is also brand new, and I loooooove this new pack of paper.  It is huge and darling and yummy.  It’s called Sweet Pea, and you can see it here.  Cute cute!

More later, tootle-oo! :)

December Card Club

I will add the details later, but I did want to quickly get these photos posted. In the meantime you can leave a comment with any questions. :)

For our December club I added a couple extra things to make, but I tried to make them quick and simple.  It sort of worked. ;)   So 1 card, 1 gift card holder/card, and 3 tags.

October card club

Oh sheesh, it’s been too long since I’ve been able to step foot in my craft room.  But good news!!  The construction is done!  Woo-hoo!  I’m not done organizing, but with a little help from Ikea I am getting very close.  :)

So it’s been a while, but I finally have the projects for my October card club finished and ready!  Not a minute too soon, since it’s tonight.  Tee hee.

It’s fun to have something new to share again!

Okay, how cute is this witch’s hat??  It’s a perfect treat box!  I really wish I could say this is my own original idea, but no way, I have to give credit where it’s due.  I found this on Carrie’s blog, and you can see her instructions here.

img_0222

Mine is almost exactly like hers.  I think the only things I changed were the tag and ribbon.

img_0221

Next is a very simple treat bag, made easy and uber-fast thanks to my Big Shot machine.  I don’t have many occasions to give a Halloween card, so I opted for a couple treat bags instead.

img_0218

We’re also making a festive fall card.  ‘Tis the season, after all!
