Class Valentines

Okay, this was fun. :)

My oldest girl will be 4 this week. (Side note: We brought her home from the hospital as a newborn on Valentine’s Day. She is my little Valentine. Awwww!)

She wanted to make little cards for her preschool class valentines, so I peeked online and saw this cute image from Stampin’ Up.

valentines

My girl loved it, so we just pretty much copied it.  I was glad I had 2 sets of the heart treat cups on hand.

For the white scalloped border we used (okay, I used … that was one part I did myself) the border punch from the sale-a-bration goodies.  At the time I didn’t have the coordinating corner punch, so I just did 4 strips for the sides.  Man, that took a long time.  I highly recommend the corner punch! :)

How cute is she writing out the names of her classmates?  creating-girl

I found the stamp from Sweet Season for her to/froms.  She stamped the image on the back of her cards and then I helped her spell out her friends’ names.

There is something so fun and adorable about seeing little words that your child’s hand has written.

These little crooked ones are my favorite. :)

The perfectionist demo in me had to hold back quite a bit to let her do these on her own.  Didn’t they turn out great?  Of course I helped with some things, like putting on the white pieces and some adhering and we did the heart punching together, but overall, this was her project.

And hey, what preschooler won’t love m&ms? :)   She sure nibbled a lot while we assembled!  It’s a fun bonus that she gets to give these out on her birthday.

Thanks for peeking in!  Visit my store if you’d like to purchase any of these items.

February Card Club

Ahhhh I have no idea how to use my husband’s camera!  Someday I may have to learn … but in the meantime, you’ll just have to excuse the out-of-focus crazies.

On to to projects. :)

The projects from this month are all very inspired by others.  Hooray for a sharing community!

This 1st card was fun because each girl gets to choose her own animal and sentiment.  (Thank you Angie for the inspiration on this one!  I loved the simplicity of her card, so I basically just changed the colors for a boy/neutral card.)

We used the stamp set Fox & Friends for the animals.  I love these animals! fox-friends

The words came from another favorite, Well Scripted. well-scriptedThe girls in my club this week came up with some darling combinations!

Our 2nd card is inspired by Shelli herself.  I saw several places online an example of a card she showed at the recent Leadership Convention.  I changed several details, but I loved her card with these 3 hearts in a row.

That large heart stamp is probably my favorite from this set, I {Heart} Hearts.

i-heart-hearts

You may recognize this as the stamp set that I mentioned here with the Haiti relief effort.  Be sure to check that out.  And the way that small heart punch coordinates with the teeny “love” heart stamp from this set?  Cute!

Also on that card, though it’s faint in the picture, you may see that I used a texture plate for the background.  These are a fantastic way to add a quick, fun texture to your projects with the Big Shot machine.

For our 3rd project, thank you Andrea for the idea on this one!  I love these!  And my kids really love them.

flower-treat

Imagine how cute this last picture would be if that flower was in focus?  Awwwwww. :)   I love little chubby fingers. (I may be especially biased when they belong to my babies.  Possibly.)

And here’s a thought … do you see my daughter’s shirt there?  Those birds and those colors?  I just may have to use that shirt as inspiration for a card soon!  Cute!  If you do, let me know!  I’d love to see your creation.
