August Card Club

I just wrapped up my card clubs for the month.  I love these girls!  We have so much fun.

I just love, love, love this owl punch.  I think I gasped when I 1st saw it in the new catalog. :)   (I am, after all, addicted to all things punch related, so you know I looked there 1st!)

#118074, $16.95

We used li’l owlie on this first card.

How cute is he with that Play date designer series paper?

#117168, $9.95 (12 sheets!)

This is the inside of that one.

On that card we also used the woodgrain stamp (a must have for the owl peek cards!) and the uber yummy designer buttons. (And yes, more punches.)

For our 2nd card, I did it again … I couldn’t help myself.  I am a sucker for a cute card that must be replicated.  This was the original (and hey, LW and I have the same initials :) ), and here is our very similar version.

(The one we made in club did vary a little as this was my prototype, but close enough.  I should have taken a more accurate picture later.)

Are you noticing a theme yet with the crumb cake color as our card base?  Well, yes, I didn’t realize this until I was done with all 3 cards. :)   No secret that it’s a favorite.  Here is our 3rd card using (gasp) crumb cake as a base color …

This one was very directly inspired by Nance — thank you! :)

That stamp set, apple blossoms, is one of my favorites right now.  It’s a hostess set, meaning you can get it for free by hosting a party with me.  I love free. :)

And that little bitty tag?  Cute, no?  That is using the tiny tags stamp set and cute little jewelry tag punch.

Okie dokie, bye!

July Card Club — oopsie, belated!

I never posted our club cards from July, oops!  Quick, before the kids’ quiet moment passes! :)    ( … so I have approx. 14 seconds … )

This 1st card is directly inspired by Marie (again) with just some color changes and minor doo-dads.

We used the Friends Never Fade stamp set,

the vintage wallpaper embossing die (with the Big Shot), the awesome Greenhouse Gala designer series paper,

the scallop trim border punch (a fave) and the cute li’l dainty 1/8″ taffeta ribbon in daffodil delight.

(I told you this would be quick … let me know if you have questions on any details.)

This next one is a fun technique with the Big Shot machine called (I believe) a half-cut card.

You can create this using a wide variety of shapes.  We used the scallop oval from our punch windows

(and the movers & shapers curly label die.)  There are several videos and photo tutorials out there — here is a quick one from Dawn.

We used the Friends Never Fade stamp set again, and more of the Greenhouse Gala paper.  (Soooo versatile!!  I love that this paper is fun and funky on one side, and pretty and mellow on the other side.)

For our 3rd card we stepped away from the more “pretty” style and played a bit with the “cute” and playful style.

This stamp set is Things I Love.

We made the edging with the pinking hearts border punch, and the circles with varying sizes of circle punches.

On the inside we made sure to complete the thought :) — “but most of all … YOU!”

My 14 seconds are way more than up.  As I type this, my 4-year-old girl is tossing a scarf over her head calling, “throw it … catch it …” over and over.  It has landed on me and the laptop twice so far.  Think she wants attention? :)   Bye!

Laura

p.s. stay tuned, I have August club projects to share soon!

Convention 2010 ~ “Share What You Love”

Ohhhh, *happy sigh*, Stampin’ Up convention is such an amazing experience.  This was only my 2nd convention (since I have been a demo for about a year and 1/2), but so far I am 2-for-2 for a great and unbelievably awesome time. :)

So, you ask, what makes this “convention” so fabulous?

The creative energy bursting at the seams.  The “family” that is Stampin’ Up.  The staff that work so hard and so overtime to make each experience perfect.  (Trust me on this one.)  The inspiring classes.  The free stuff!  Shopping in Momento Mall (demo only goodies).  The generously shared ideas for my poor uncreative self.  The make & takes.  The new friends.  The laughter and tears.  The roommates!  The cheering for one another.  The “me” time.  The “convention attendees only” specials and promos.  Being a part of a company that centers on making a difference.  The “I never would have thought of that!” moments. The energizing spirit of building my business, making new friends, and bettering myself.

Should I go on? :)   I could!  It’s 4 full days of yumminess.  And exhaustion.  But mostly yumminess.

Okay, pictures!

A li’l shopping at Momento Mall!

This was the line to get in to shop.  I was happy to already be done. :)

Can you see the cute orange polka-dotted bags?  That is the convention bag this year (filled with some stamps) that I have yet to take a picture of.

Wednesday night there was a flower power party.  The corporate team wasn’t shy about gettin’ groovy.

Aw, Carrie, I love you too. :) hee hee.

I was excited to have my hubby join me at Awards Night. :)

(Not that I won any awards this year, but STILL.)

I kinda like him. :)

These were my roomies.  Okay, if you know I’m from Salt Lake, you may be wondering why in the world I had roommates.  Last year I did the commuting thing, demo by day, mommy by night.  It was exhausting, and I felt detached from a lot of the demo happenings and convention experience.  So this year?  I decided, last minute, that I wanted to stay downtown for 2 of the nights.  I would do it again in a heartbeat!  Next year it may be 3 nights! :)   How did I end up with the best roommates?!?

Natasha, Kari, and Jenn — thank you again!  We laughed and laughed and talked and laughed.  I felt immediately welcomed and comfortable with these incredibly talented girls.  I was proud to be adopted Canadian for the week. :)

Oh dear, that’s not a very good picture with my li’l point-and-shoot. :)

*Side Note* I am having trouble typing because of the bandaid on my pointer finger.  I cut myself earlier today with my Stampin’ Up craft & rubber scissors. :)   At least we know those are sharp!  hee hee.  Moving on …

I have so many photos of samples.  So, so, so many samples and ideas to draw from!  Here are just a few of the great things on display.

Note the vinyl.  How cute is that chalkboard vinyl with the lists for each child?

These stencils are also from our Definitely Decorative line.  These were decorated throughout the course of the week.

Aw, Max!

To know Max is to love Max.  She is my upline, and she’s fantastic.

If you are hungry and trying to avoid sweets, stop reading now. :)

I warned ya.

How cute are they?!?  This whole area was full of “sweets” and color inspiration.

I am loving that little glitter cup and spoon.

My pictures don’t do this set-up justice at all.  Cute Becky has some great pictures — check those out here.

I could go on for a while. :)   I have a pile of swaps to go through still (yay!) and a whole bunch of motivation, goals, and ideas to put into effect!

I love this company, and I love what I do!

Laura :)

Want to join me at Convention next year?? I love what I do, and I’d love to have you join my team! The starter kits (2 options) are now cheaper! Click here or email me to learn more.

new product spotlight #1 – PUNCHES!

I’ve decided to spotlight the new products in the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog.  I didn’t have to think very long about where to begin here, seeing as how I’m a self-proclaimed punch-a-holic!!!  How can you not love them?  One little punch and  you have a difficult-looking, intricate creation!  With a dimensional?  *sigh* :)

Anywho …

There are 5 brand new punch designs in the new catalog.  (There are 51 punches total … yes, 51.  Yum. Phew, good thing I get a discount!)

Bitty Bat $15.95 #119279

Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border $15.95 #119275

2-3/8" Scallop Circle $16.95 #118874

This next punch is unique and fun.  The inside lines are actually score lines, and the outside is punched.  Make sense? :)

Petal Card $17.95 #119273

2-Step Owl $16.95 #118074

Having a hard time picturing that punch?  Oh boy, there are some CUTE ideas floating around the internet.  This is a sample photo from the catalog.  You can also get a peek of the new caddy there, too. :)   (There are 4 sizes of caddies.)

Okay, this next punch isn’t actually new … BUT it is “returning” from a holiday mini catalog, and I am thrilled.  I love this punch.  There are darling stamp sets that coordinate with it (and a fantastic one to come, *hint*!!), and it’s awesome for Christmas, making pots to stamp flowers in, yadda yadda.  Love it.

Ornament $16.95 #119847
